The Test Comprises Three Parts
The test contains 20 distinct question formats, from multiple choice to essay writing. Before your test, review the various question formats because there are various question kinds in each section.
Speaking and Writing
There are seven different question categories in this 54-67 minute section of the exam. It is the longest section. English that you might hear in an academic environment will be used to assess your speaking and writing abilities.
Reading
There are five different question types in this section of the test, which lasts for 29 to 30 minutes. (‘Reading and Writing: Fill in the Blanks’), which is part of the PTE Academic’s integrated skills test, evaluates writing abilities.
Listening
There are eight different question types in this 30 to 43 minute section of the exam.
The audio or video clips that provide the basis for the questions start to play automatically. Each audio or video clip is only heard once. You’re free to jot down notes.
